Cap Specialty is a growing, national specialty insurance provider for small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S., with its headquarters in Madison, WI. The company was running out of space due to its quick growth, and its layout of tall, brown cube farms was outdated, uninspiring and didn’t speak to its culture. Leadership wanted to consolidate its office footprint from two floors to one floor to reduce operation costs. Challenge the office culture to one that fostered greater collaboration and integration, and attracted younger, millennial talent. Have the look and feel of a “current office design.”
An assigned Lerdahl team partnered with key Cap Specialty stakeholders and leadership, listening to their needs and working to make sure the design solution fit their objectives and budget. The Lerdahl design team created a layout with higher density of workstations, more collaboration, and sight light lines throughout with the following products: Kimball Xsite, lounge furniture, conference docks, booths and chairs. Nucraft customer boardroom tables, Furniture Lab tables and National Mix-It Chairs.
Lerdahl partnered over the three month project period with general contractor Ideal Builders, commercial real estate investment trust Artis REIT, and Destree Architecture & Design for detailed drawings, demolition and construction.
